Little Apples by Aneela Hoey for Moda is one of the cutest lines that we currently stock, and I couldn't be more excited to share this Little Apples quilt recently completed by CityCraft team member Sarah. The front was constructed using the free Little Apples quilt pattern provided by Moda, available here (PDF download) and a Little Apples layer cake pre-cut bundle. Though the layer cake bundles are long gone and sold out at the manufacturer, you can easily reconstruct this using 1/3 yard cuts or fat quarters of the collection and cutting them down into 10x10 squares. (We still have lots of Little Apples charm packs, fat quarter bundles, fat eighth bundles, and yardage.) The back was designed by the CityCraft team to give the quilt a modern flare. It was quilted with Kyoto bamboo batting (available at CityCraft) and a classic crosshatch quilting pattern. (We wanted to keep the quilting simple so the focus would be on the quilt pattern and the fabrics, not a distracting quilting design.) This quilt will be featured in our new front window display along with some coordinating patchwork pillows using more Little Apples fabric. So stay tuned for a peek at the pillows that are being finished up as we speak. Sarah, congratulations on a job well done!
